OnYourBike

Sonning Common had its first community cycle ride in 2007. In 2008 335 riders completed a 5 or 12 mile circuit on quiet lanes in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside and raised over £2600 for charity.

The 2009 OnYourBike ride will be held on Sunday 26th April, starting at Sonning Common Primary School at 1100hrs. So start training...

The event was started by the Sonning Common Primary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) but the ride is a cross-community activity and is open to anybody of any age who feels that they can complete the distance. It is supported by the local GP practice as part of their ongoing commitment to encouraging exercise.

The routes cover quiet country roads (although there is a short stretch on a gravelly track) and are designed to be enjoyable rather than challenging. Young people under 16 must be under the supervision of an adult. We expect everyone to obey the Highway Code and share the road sensibly with other users: cars, walkers and horses.
