To ensure that we accommodate all who wish to ride, an entry form must be completed in advance by all riders (and by anyone wishing to join the Playground Cycle or Health Walk).
All riders and walkers must sign the entry form to accept these terms and conditions:
Cycle Ride
Riders will be set off in groups of 10 at 1 minute intervals. Children under 16 must be under the authority of a responsible adult and stay with that adult for the duration of the cycle. We recommend that each adult is responsible for no more than 2 children u 16. Entry fees are £4 per individual (£1 for the Playground cycle) non-refundable. A registration form must be completed for every participant (either shown on a team sheet or as an individual). Forms must be returned with payment. Entries for the bike ride on the day will be £5 per individual subject to space. Entries will be acknowledged and each rider given a starting number.
All participants must ensure that their bikes are roadworthy and that all brakes have been checked. We strongly recommend that all participants wear a cycle helmet. Each participant must accept full responsibility for their equipment, for the duration of the event. Parents/guardians must be aware of the demands of the ride and they alone should make the decision about the chosen route. Note that all routes use country lanes and tracks. The longest route has some hilly parts. Due care should be taken by all participants to avoid injury or accident. Adults must ensure that junior team members are cycling in a sensible manner so as not to injure themselves or others. All riders must observe the Highway Code and ensure that utmost care is taken at junctions. Marshals are solely to indicate direction. You undertake to be fit and healthy to participate and accept that SCPTA cannot be held responsible for personal injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability during the event. Group Leaders accept responsibility for all Group Members listed on their entry form.
Health Walk
The 2.5 mile health walk will also start and finish at Sonning Common Primary School. Walkers will be in groups of 20 with one leader. A registration form must be completed for each walker either individually or on a team sheet (£3 per individual to enter). Children under 16 must be under the authority of a responsible adult and stay with that adult for the duration of the walk. You undertake to be fit and healthy to participate and accept that SCPTA cannot be held responsible for personal injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability during the event. Group Leaders accept responsibility for all Group Members listed on their entry form.
Start and Finish
Arrangements to get to and from the start and finish are wholly your responsibility. Details of parking arrangements will be available on the website. All riders and walkers must check in at school between 9.45am and 10.30am and collect a map of the route. Refreshments will be available at school. There will be a refreshment stop on the bike ride route (squash and water) but not the walking route. Please ensure you take water with you.
